September 2015 International
Dot Day!
September 15th
I am so excited that our Elementary Art program is participating in International Dot Day this year! Schools around the world come together to celebrate the author, Peter H. Reynolds and his book, The Dot. The Dot, is a children’s book we have read in the art room this week. It celebrates creativity, courage, and collaboration. The students have been inspired to create their own dots, and have been working hard on their dot masterpieces in class! To celebrate all students are encouraged to wear dots to school on Tuesday September 15th.
There will also be a display on that day, in the front of the Elementary Library, of all the dot artwork the K-6 Students have created. Please feel free to come see your child’s artwork. This day will help your child’s art curriculum come alive, so everyone is encouraged to participate. Let’s have fun!

Artsonia
Artsonia is an online kids art gallery. I have signed up for Artsonia this year, so you will be able to have an opportunity to see and share your child’s art work online. You will also be able to purchase keepsakes, such as, key chains, T-shirts, mugs, bags, etc… of your children’s artwork. Our Elementary Art Program will earn 20% of sales for fundraising. This is an awesome way to help our program! I have attached a Permission Form to your Child's Monthly newsletter. To allow your child to participate, all you need to do is go to the website listed on your form, click the parent alert icon, and enter your child’s screen name and security key. This is located on your child’s permission form.
If you activate your child’s account, I will upload all of their art as it is completed. Please feel free to call or email if you need any help with activating your child’s account.
